Audi redesigns A5, S5 sports coupes

The Audi A5, and the more power S5, were given a lower stance with a long hood that is bowed to give its the “powerdome” look.

That’s partly because Audi wants to show off its new engines. The A5 will be powered by a standard 2-liter, four-cylinder engine that develops 252 horsepower. It can power the car from zero to 60 miles per hour in as little as 5.6 seconds with the seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission, or 5.7 seconds with the manual.

The S5 gets the more powerful 3-liter V-6 that belts out 354 horsepower, good for zero-to-60 times of 4.4 seconds.

Inside, the cars are going to have Audi’s “virtual cockpit” feature, with a 12.3-inch screen. It will also have Google Earth for navigation.
